Uštipci-Donuts- Fritters
Updated: 3 days ago
There are several delightful recipes for donuts, each with its own unique twist and flavor profile, but I have to admit that I usually make them this particular way. This method is not only simple and quick, but it also allows me to avoid the hassle of smearing my hands with sticky dough, which can often be a frustrating part of the baking process. Most importantly, the donuts I prepare using this method do not absorb fat at all during frying, resulting in a lighter treat that is soft and fluffy, almost like a “soul.”
I often find myself preparing these delightful donuts, and they have become a staple in my kitchen, especially for dinner. The versatility of this recipe allows for various toppings and fillings, making it easy to customize according to personal preferences or seasonal ingredients. Whether I choose to glaze them with a sweet icing, dust them with powdered sugar, or fill them with a rich jam or cream, they always turn out perfectly.
ngredients and Preparation
To make these donuts, I typically start with basic ingredients that I always have on hand: flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt. The preparation is straightforward, which is one of the reasons I love this recipe so much. I mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another, ensuring that everything is well combined without any lumps. Then, I gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tougher donuts.
The Cooking Process
Once the batter is ready, I heat up a pot of oil to the perfect frying temperature. The key to achieving that non-greasy texture lies in maintaining the right oil temperature; too hot, and the donuts will brown too quickly on the outside while remaining raw inside; too cool, and they will absorb excess oil. I carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, watching as they puff up and turn a beautiful golden brown.
Serving Suggestions
After frying, I place the donuts on a paper towel to drain any excess oil, although there is hardly any to be found. They are best served warm, right out of the fryer, and can be enjoyed plain or adorned with various toppings. Sometimes, I’ll whip up a simple glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of milk and vanilla extract, creating a sweet coating that complements the soft texture of the donuts perfectly.
Conclusion
This method has become my go-to for making donuts, not only because of the ease of preparation and the minimal mess but also due to the delightful results. They have a lightness that makes them irresistible, and I often find myself preparing them for family dinners, where they are always a hit. Follow this recipe, and you too can enjoy the simple pleasure of homemade donuts that are sure to bring smiles to the table.
