Priganice Serbian Recipe, simple recipe

  • These pastries are made simply, they can be sweet and salty, they are made from yeast, water, and flour with the addition of sugar and salt — An excellent delicacy that you can eat for breakfast or dinner. With this recipe, it's good because you don't have to wait for the dough to rise, as with donuts. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time 35 min. 6 serving
  • 450 g flour

  • 250 ml yogurt/ room temperature

  • 100 ml warm water

  • 7 g dry yeast

  • 1 Tablespoon of oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  1. Mix yeast and sugar and add to warm water. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

  2. When the dough has risen, transfer it to a deep bowl and gradually add oil, salt and yogurt, which must not be cold, and then add half the flour. Mix the dough well, then add the rest of the flour, knead well with a wooden spoon, so that the dough becomes soft and lump-free, it must be compact and sticky.

  3. Sprinkle the work surface with flour and pour the dough onto the surface. Work the dough a little more with a rolling pin and shape it into a square. The thickness of the dough must be about 7 mm.

  4. Cut the shapes as desired, I made squares in a deep-frying pan, pour the oil and wait for it to heat up well. When the oil starts to sizzle, it is a sign that you can put them in and bake them. Add the pretzels and fluff them up with a fork. They should be nicely browned. When they are ready, put them on a plate with a paper towel to absorb the rest of the fat. Eat them with sweet or savory spreads. Buon appetito!
