In the context of facial care, the term "pomegranate" is specifically used to refer to rose hip, the fruit of the wild rose. The highly popular and valued rosehip seed oil is derived from its seeds.
Why is Rose Hip oil great for the face?
Dermatological research and reviews by beauty experts on platforms such as Byrdie and Healthline highlight several significant benefits: The reduction of scars and hyperpigmentation. This is attributed to its high content of trans-retinoic acid, a natural form of vitamin A, which enhances cell regeneration and diminishes dark spots.
Anti-wrinkle and anti-aging
Enhances collagen production and boosts skin elasticity through the synergistic effects of vitamins A and C, along with antioxidants.
Deep hydration without clogging pores
This "dry oil" is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which fortify the skin barrier. It is rapidly absorbed and suitable for oily, acne-prone skin.
Popular Products
Popular and proven products If you are looking for pure, cold-pressed rosehip oil for the face, users and experts most often recommend these brands:
-The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: The best value for money: An extremely popular, affordable and completely pure organic oil. Texture: A rich, golden color that deeply nourishes the skin.
-Pai Skincare Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil: Top quality: Contains oil obtained from both the seeds and the fruit, which gives it an intense orange color and a stronger antioxidant effect.
How to use it correctly?
Quantity: Use only 2 - 3 drops to cover the entire face.
Sequence: Apply the oil at the end of your skincare routine, following cleansing, toner, and moisturizer, to seal in moisture. Alternatively, you may blend a drop or two into your night cream.
Time: Optimal for use in the evening routine.
Important Note: Due to its natural vitamin A content, exercise caution if using strong synthetic retinoid creams (such as tretinoin) concurrently, to avoid skin irritation. Conduct a patch test on a small skin area before first use.
About Pomegranate
The term "pomegranate" can refer to either the fruit of the wild rose (rose hip) or the pomegranate itself. The method for preparing juice varies based on which fruit you are using. Below are straightforward recipes for each type, allowing you to select the one you require.
Rose hip syrup is a concentrated, therapeutic syrup abundant in vitamin C, typically derived from the fruits of the wild rose and subsequently diluted with water.
Ingredients for natural Juice and Rejuvenating skin (7-8 doses or 8 days)
1 kg of ripe wild rose hips/ cleaned
3 liters of water/ divided
about 200 g of honey (or as desired) can be replaced with stevia
3 pomegranates/ cleaned
1 pill Q10
1 pill zinc/ powder
1 pill selenium / powder
1 pill of Omega 3
1 chromium pill
Procedure:
Begin by washing the pomegranate thoroughly. Remove the stalks and black tips, then cut open the fruit to extract the red seeds.
Ensure all yellow and white membranes are carefully removed, as they impart a bitter taste.
For crushing, briefly grind the seeds using a blender or a multi-purpose food processor to ensure they are well blended.
Cooking:
Bring 2 liters of water to a boil, then add the chopped pomegranate and ripe wild rose. Simmer for approximately 15-20 minutes.
Take off the heat and let it stand, covered, for 15 minutes.
First squeeze:
Filter the mixture using a dense cheesecloth or a colander.
Retain the extracted juice.
Second round:
Return the rest of the pulp (meat and bones) to the pot, cover with the remaining 1 liter of water and cook for another 10 minutes, then strain again.
Finishing:
Mix both liquids, add honey or stevia and cook over low heat until everything is well combined and the liquid thickens a little (about 5 minutes).
Pour the hot syrup into sterilized glass bottles.
Drink 400 ml of this juice every morning with the addition of Omega, Selenium, Zinc and Q10 and Chromium.
The tip for a complete effect is to use rose hip oil, apply it directly to the skin at 3 drops or add 4 drops to your favorite night cream, mix well and apply to your face.
Drink the juice for 30 days, then take a break for 2 months and repeat.
In the diet itself, make sure that your meal is always rich in vitamins C, A, E, Selenium, Zinc, as well as saturated positive and omega 3 fats, proteins, potassium and magnesium.
I recommend these juices for those over 40. In just 2-3 weeks you will see a big difference in your face.
Important Note:
Gauze (cheesecloth) is essential because the fruit of the wild rosehip contains small, irritating hairs that must be completely removed through straining.
Add one pill each of zinc, selenium, omega, Q10, and chromium to 400 ml of juice. Extract the powder or liquid from the pills and mix thoroughly.
The pills are intended for use with 400 ml of juice.
By consistently using these ingredients, you can regenerate cells in your body and face, restore collagen, and increase collagen intensity in the skin, thereby reducing wrinkles and dark spots on the face.
For those with dark spots on the face, it is recommended to incorporate rosehip oil into your nighttime skincare routine.
NOTE:
Always consult your doctor or dermatologist before consumption and use.
