They are also used to improve potency and libido. What you need to do is make tea from these seeds. Take 2 tablespoons of dried and ground watermelon seeds, and pour them with 1 liter of boiled water. Let the liquid stand for about 30 minutes, and then you can consume it, without squeezing. Drink this dose every day for several weeks. The first results can be noticed after 10 days of consuming this tea. 6. Watermelon seeds for the treatment of Escherichia coli Watermelon seed tea is one of the best natural remedies for eliminating Escherichia coli bacteria. To prepare this tea, collect 30-40 fresh watermelon seeds (although dried ones can also be used). Chop them (grind, grind) and put in 1 liter of water, cook for about 10 minutes. After cooking, leave the tea to cool, then drink it (you can also keep it in the fridge, as needed). Drink 1 liter of this tea daily, for many weeks, or many months, to be exact, until you completely eliminate Escherichia coli. We recommend that you collect a sufficient amount of watermelon seeds during the summer, so that you can use them to prepare tea even after the summer, when watermelons are no longer available. This tea can be consumed by both children and adults. In addition to using them to make tea, you can also bake watermelon seeds. Wash the black watermelon seeds and place them on a cloth to dry (or on paper). When dry, bake them in the oven at a moderate temperature for 20–25 minutes. Never bake them at a high temperature, because that way you will destroy all their medicinal ingredients. During baking, occasionally spray the seeds with a little water and salt. This preparation of watermelon seeds is a favorite of the Egyptians. #health #alternative #medicine #watermelon #seeds #recipe #blog #foodblog #foodblogger #coffeetimelena #healthyfood #homemade Use the contact form for questions or advice. • Maltex

Maltex Maltex is a natural sweetener made from sprouted barley. It is an excellent source of iron, vitamin B complex and many minerals. It belongs to the fast-absorbing sugars, so the maltose, glucose, and fructose it contains are a much better choice than white sugar. It is allowed in the diet of diabetics, especially in the preparation of cakes and pastries. Maltex or barley malt extract preserved all quality barley ingredients during production. It is made exclusively from cereal grains, so it contains only their sugar or maltose. It has a specific taste and smell, honey consistency and is dark. It has a very sweet taste, so it is mixed with other foods to give them a special aroma. It is suitable for diabetics and people who maintain blood sugar levels. It is also recommended in the diet of children, athletes and pregnant women. Although it is a natural product from cereals, it affects the body and is not recommended in large quantities. The caloric value of maltex in 100g is 585 kcal, unlike honey, whose value is still lower, and amounts to 319 kcal. Maltex is one of the foods that increases the basicity of the organism. Body acidity is a condition that causes numerous diseases. It is known that human health also depends on the levels of acidity, i.e., the basicity of the body. If the body is too acidic, there is no balance, and it needs to return to balance. In order to determine the condition of the organism, the pH factor of urine, saliva, and blood is checked. In addition to the mentioned maltex, the foods of exclusively basic influence are also almonds, millet, dates, raisins, figs. It is recommended that up to 80% be present in the daily diet. Tip: As this sweetener comes from barley, people who are sensitive to gluten and with a diagnosis of celiac disease should avoid it. #health #alternative #medicine #maltex #blog #foodblog #foodblogger #coffeetimelena #homemade Use the contact form for questions or advice. • How Powerful is Honey?

How Powerful is Honey? Everyone knows that honey is an irreplaceable food in the winter days when you need to raise your immunity and combine it with lemon and cinnamon in teas, natural drinks, salads, and even in desserts. Is there, again, someone who has not used propolis for disinfection of the throat or oral cavity, while pollen and royal jelly are products that everyone has heard about and probably only used occasionally. Or, better said, he used them correctly and in the right doses. Products – honey How much, in fact, do you know about these powerful results of bee work and effort? When you learn more about them, how curative and useful they are for human health, you will want to replace traditional medicines with them more often. HONEY By definition, honey is a thick, sweet and syrupy substance, i.e. a product of honey bees, which is obtained from fruit and other juices processed in the stomach of bees. The bees put it in a covered honeycomb, where it turns into honey by chemical reactions. Honey contains minerals (as many as 37), almost all amino acids, an abundance of vitamins, organic acids and aromatic substances. It should be noted that one bee, in order to produce 1 kg of honey, needs to visit about 10 million flowers, which is about 120 thousand flights. Healing properties of honey: Improves immunity Helps heal wounds and burns An excellent source of energy Relieves cold and flu symptoms It regulates blood sugar levels (however, diabetics should use it with caution) POLLEN If you have so far consumed pollen by taking it in a dried form with a spoon, chewing it (or grinding it finely), swallowing it and then drinking a glass of water, or maybe even stirring it in water. Then unfortunately you have not used any of the useful ingredients of pollen in your body. Why? Since the healthiest is raw pollen, or dried and then immediately frozen, and which is left to swell in water for several hours before consumption, you got the answer to the question – how to use pollen. It is necessary for it to stand submerged, and for the grains to burst after swelling, because their celluloid membrane is not suitable for our digestive system. Even in yogurt, it will dissolve much better than in water, since it is known that lactic acid dissolves the pollen membrane more easily. What, exactly, is pollen? It is a mix of proteins, fats, minerals, carbohydrates, amino acids, enzymes, essential oils and an abundance of vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, H – biotin, E, C, D, A, rutin, folic acid. Due to its exceptional composition, pollen has many benefits and has a positive effect on: Anemia Premature aging Arterial hypertension Atherosclerosis Digestive disorders Loss of appetite and lack of work ethic Disorders of the stomach Convalescents after radiation or patients who have used excessive doses of antibiotics Decreased brain activity Developing children Problems and diseases of sight Cardiovascular diseases Prostate complication Raising the immune system PROPOLIS It is a mixture of wax and sticky substances that bees collect from the buds of perennial plants, and they use it to coat the ceiling of the hive, thus disinfecting it. Also, propolis strengthens honeycombs and closes cracks. One of the most important ingredients in propolis is bioflavonoids, which are antioxidants. In addition to them, there are minerals, vitamins, aromatic and essential oils, pollen. Propolis has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic effects, and it also has the function of a local anesthetic (reduces pain). Precisely because of the incredibly high degree of effectiveness, propolis is recommended in the following situations: In case of colds, flu or bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract In case of bad breath, inflammation of the throat or oral cavity, or in case of canker mouth. If there are cuts, burns, or if wounds, herpes and eczema are present In periodontitis and periodontitis In case of gastritis and colitis With increased vaginal secretions As a prevention of inflammation of the ear, nose, throat, oral cavity To strengthen immunity Royal jelly It is formed as a product of worker bees aged 4–12 days and serves primarily for feeding larvae from which queens, worker bees and drones will develop. For the first 3 days, all larvae receive royal jelly, and after that it becomes food only for the future queen. Thanks to the diet, the queen reaches maturity five days before the other worker bees, is twice as big and heavier than them, lives 5–6 years, while ordinary worker bees only 2–3 months. Since it is food for the queen, royal jelly is rich in pheromones, and it is extremely beneficial for fertility in women, i.e., potency in men (it regulates the hormonal balance in the body). It contains an abundance of proteins, minerals, vitamins – all in all, over 70 known elements. Used in the treatment of: Arthritis and rheumatism Elevated cholesterol Chronic fatigue Impotence and infertility Weak immunity Anxiety and depression High blood pressure Skin problems Diabetes Chronic infections Overweight Insomnia Premature aging Problems with memory and concentration Menopause Cancer Inflammatory processes Ulcers, stings, fungal diseases In terms of dosage, royal jelly should be used in a fresh state of 200-600 mg, or 130-200 mg in a lyophilized state, when it comes to prevention. Therapeutic doses, on the other hand, are significantly higher. It is advisable to use it only under the tongue during use, so that it dissolves spontaneously and slowly in the mouth. #powerful #honey #health #and #Alternative #medicine #care #cure #immunity #boost #natural #blog #coffeetimelena Use the contact form for questions or advice. • Notes on Food and Nutrition

Notes on Food and Nutrition Proper nutrition and food ingredients Nutrition is very important for human life, because it represents its biological basis. Hence, our health largely depends on how we eat. Most people do not eat properly and because they do not have enough knowledge about nutrition. The fact that almost half of all diseases are the result of improper diet indicates the importance of proper nutrition. In other words, proper nutrition has a first-class preventive role in protecting a person from many diseases, and it has a positive effect on his ability to work, productivity and longevity. Improper diet most often causes: retardation in physical and mental development, hypervitaminosis, reduced resistance to infectious diseases, malnutrition and obesity in children, and diseases of the stomach and intestines, heart and blood vessels, increased blood pressure, diabetes, liver and biliary tract diseases, sclerosis, obesity, and others in adults. Proper nutrition means daily intake of foods that fully meet human physiological needs in nutrients and protective ingredients, depending on gender, age, type of work performed, climatic conditions, special physiological conditions, etc. The group of nutrients includes: proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Proteins are the most important ingredients in food. They have a building role, performing worn out and creating new cells. According to their origin, they can be animal or plant. Animal proteins are biologically much more valuable than vegetable proteins, and the most valuable is egg white. Of the foods of animal origin, the richest in protein are: — eggs — meat — fish — milk and dairy products. The following are rich in plant foods: — grains and cereal products (flour, bread, pasta, pastries) — rice — dried lentils (beans, lentils, peas, soybeans, beans) Protein needs are different and depend on age. The greatest protein intake needs are in children, the least in the elderly. An adult weighing 70 kg should take about 70 g of protein daily with food. It is best for half of the food to be of animal and half of plant origin. Fats are nutrients that have primarily an energetic role. Foods richest in fat are: lard, oils, butter, sour cream, cream, butter, margarine, tallow, bacon, lard, olives, hazelnuts, almonds, etc. The basic principles of the diet are that equal amounts of animal and vegetable fats are present in the daily meal. I recommend that the amount of vegetable fats be higher than animal fats in the summer, and vice versa in the winter, since energy needs are much lower in summer than in winter. If someone performs heavier and physically, then his energy needs are higher, so they should be compensated with a slightly higher amount of fat. Carbohydrates or sugars are, like fats, energy ingredients of food. Most carbohydrates are found in foods of plant origin: — sugar — honey — grain (flour and flour products) — rice — lens — potatoes — fruit and — fruit products These ingredients of our food meet most of a person's energy needs. In our Serbian national diet, bread is mostly used as a source of carbohydrates. Any excessive intake of nutrients, especially fats and carbohydrates, has a detrimental effect on our health. That is why you should take only as many of these ingredients with food as you need. Protective ingredients are called mineral salts and vitamins. Their importance in nutrition is no less than nutrients, since they participate in many physiological processes in the human body. Insufficient or excessive intake of these ingredients inevitably leads to disorders. From mineral salts it is worth mentioning calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, and from vitamins: vitamin A, vitamins of group B (B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin) Vitamins: C, D, E, K The largest sources of mineral salts and vitamins are: Vegetables and fruits, then milk, eggs, grain and more. Calcium and phosphorus are necessary for normal development and growth, because they participate in building bones. Milk and dairy products are the most suitable sources of these ingredients - the body makes the best use of them. Iron enters the composition of hemoglobin, and their insufficient intake with food leads to anemia. The most famous foods rich in iron are: — yolk, — liver — certain types of vegetables — some types of fresh and dried fruit. Milk is poor in iron, so predominantly consuming a milked diet can lead to anemia, which is common in children and the elderly. Vitamin A also appeared as a pure vitamin as provitamin-carotene. It is mostly found in fish oil, liver, egg, (yolks), milk, butter, some types of sea fish. Provitamin, which is converted into a vitamin in the body (liver), contains colored vegetables and fruits; carrots, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, spinach, apricot kale, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc. Vitamin D is also used as a pure vitamin and provitamin-ergosterol. Which under the action of ultraviolet sun rays (at sea, in the mountains) is converted into vitamin D. It is mostly found in fish oil, liver, butter, milk, and eggs. Vitamin group B is found in the husk and grain of grain, baker's and beer yeast, pork, milk, etc. Vitamins are divided according to their solubility into fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and water-soluble B vitamins and vitamins C. According to the thermal effect, vitamins can be: thermostable (A, D, E, K) i thermolabile (vitamin C and partially B vitamins) As vitamins are important ingredients of human food, it is necessary to preserve them as much as possible during its preparation. Taking larger amounts of vitamins than necessary can lead to unwanted consequences. The necessary amounts of nutrients and protective ingredients can best be provided by a varied diet, which is one of the basic requirements of a proper diet. Another equally important requirement is that the daily meal be divided into 3–5 meals. Basic meals are; breakfast, lunch and dinner, and lunch, morning and afternoon snacks. All foods are divided according to the basic ingredients into 7 groups for easier composition of daily meals. 1. cereals, bread, flour, pasta (containing starch, proteins, minerals, B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, iron) 2. meat, fish, and processed meat and fish, eggs (contain protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron.) 3. milk and dairy products (contains proteins, calcium, and phosphorus, vitamins B, A, and D. 4. Fats and oils (contains fats, vitamins A and D) 5. vegetables (contains vitamins and minerals, carbohydrates) 6. fruit (contains vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates) 7. sugar concentrates (contains carbohydrates) In a properly planned diet, it is necessary to take at least one food from each group every day. #notes #food #nutrition #infofood #coffetimelena #health #natural #medicine #coffeetimelena #fat #oil #fruits #rice #lens #grain #proteins #sugar Use the contact form for questions or advice. If you want to get the right dose of vitamin C from collard, then do not cook it for a long time, but use fresh collard leaves for salad. 3. It has a good effect on eyesight and skin Collard stalks and leaves contain large amounts of vitamin C, which has antibacterial properties, but also vitamin A, which is essential for eye health and a beautiful complexion. Vitamin A is essential for keeping skin, hair and mucous membranes healthy. These two vitamins often appear in the composition of skin and hair care products, and now you can take them naturally if you include medicinal greens in your diet. Vitamin A also supports eye health. About 100 g of raw collard leaves contain a sufficient amount of vitamin A to meet the daily needs of the body. • The Perfect Detox from Wheat Grass

The Perfect Detox from Wheat Grass Thanks to its multiple benefits, wheatgrass detox is a real elixir of life and an extremely valuable dietary supplement. The term “wheatgrass” refers to grass that sprouts from wheat, but also to grass that grows when barley, oats, and rye are planted. The juice is obtained when young grass full of chlorophyll is squeezed, and the liquid that is obtained is dark green in color and is called wheatgrass juice. Today, wheatgrass juice is well known among connoisseurs of healthy food, nutritionists, and people with a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Ann Wigmore is considered a pioneer of wheatgrass juice. Thanks to Dr. Wigmore, the whole world is able to drink wheatgrass juice and enjoy the countless health benefits it brings. Dr. Anne learned healing with natural remedies from her grandmother, who used various herbs and medicinal herbs to treat the wounded during the First World War. When she learned at the age of 50 that she had colon cancer, she turned to raw greens, ground seeds and cereals. Within a year, the cancer was gone. She began to study the healing powers of herbs and soon focused on wheatgrass. Nutritional value of wheatgrass juice Wheatgrass reaches the peak of its nutritional value when it is about 18 cm high and 7–10 days old. During that period, wheatgrass accumulated energy, which soon after in natural conditions leads to massive rapid growth of the plant, and it is this energy that is transferred to the juice. When wheatgrass is squeezed, the energy evaporates and oxidizes quickly, so it is very important to drink or freeze it quickly to protect the juice from oxidation. Due to its high nutritional value, wheatgrass juice is considered a complete meal. It contains beta-carotene and vitamins B, C, E, H, K, 90 different minerals and 19 amino acids. The juice contains more iron than spinach, more protein than meat, fish, eggs, beans, and dairy products. Wheat juice consists of 70% chlorophyll, and its chemical composition is very similar to hemoglobin. Chlorophyll is good for cleansing the liver, helps regulate blood sugar levels and cleanses the body of accumulated toxins. The benefits of wheatgrass juice Wheatgrass juice offers multiple benefits: physical and psychological sense of well-being more energy and better sleep stronger immune system detoxification at the cellular level better vision beautiful skin and hair fights infection cleanses and strengthens the blood improves muscle mass and endurance reduces appetite Growing wheatgrass at home Try to find high quality wheat seeds or some other previously mentioned cereals. Soak it in water and leave it like that overnight. Let the seeds germinate in a jar for 16–24 hours, and during that period, wash them three times a day. When you see a short “tail”, sow them in plastic garden tubs for seedlings with holes. The seeds should not be deep in the ground, but more evenly covered with soil. In seven to ten days, the grass will grow 10-18 cm and will be dark green, and then you can cut it at a height of one centimeter from the ground. • Lentils and their nutrition, the rule of preparation of this food

Lentils and their nutrition, the rule of preparation of this food Lentils are a type of edible seed from the legume family. The food has an extremely high-quality nutritional value. Its quality is reflected in terms of nutritional composition, and very simple and quick preparation, unlike other “harder” legumes, such as beans. Lentils are popular in the food world. The history of its diet dates back to present-day Central Asia. Lentils grow in pods that contain two seeds each. The seeds have an oval and flattened appearance, like a disk, from which they got their name. Lentil seeds are tiny, although they can be smaller than that. You can see it on sale in the form of a whole disk or half of a disk, and in different colors, and these are the characteristics by which we distinguish the types of lenses. Lentils have an excellent ability to absorb different aromas and spices, and are the most popular in Indian cuisine. Due to its rich nutritional profile and proven positive impact on health, it adds to the value of your daily intake of micronutrients and various bioactive compounds. Lentils are prepared very simply and quickly. There are only a few steps you need to follow to cook lentils perfectly: Before cooking , it is necessary to first rinse the lentils with cold water to get rid of possible impurities on the surface of the seeds; Lentils are always cooked in a ratio of 3:1, that is, you add 3 times the amount of liquid (water, stock, etc.) to the quantity of lentils; As soon as the lentils boil, reduce the temperature to simmer, and cover the pan. A few more notes: Whole lentils, such as brown or green lentils, need about 20–25 minutes to cook , while varieties of red or yellow lentils, which are smaller and halved, need less time, 10–15 minutes ; Lentils should be salted after cooking, not before , because in that case they can be quite tough and less tasty; Lentils do not need to be soaked before cooking like other legumes. Types of lenses Types of lenses are characterized by a spectrum of colors that vary from yellow and red to brown or greenish brown. Several types of lentils are available for sale, and those commercial types are mostly used in the kitchen. These are some of the most popular types of lentils: Brown lentils — the type that is consumed the most. Due to its starch composition, it has a simple “earthy” taste. It is excellent for longer cooking, like stews, because it keeps its shape. French “green” lentils — this type comes exclusively from the French province of Le Pay. It is similar in color, except that the third of the lens is streaked with green. They have a note of slightly strong and spicy taste, and retain their shape during cooking. Green Lentils – This type varies in shape and size and is usually considered a cheaper variant of French green lentils. Yellow or red lentil – is a much smaller and halved disk shape. It cooks much faster than the others. It is ideal for making quick and popular Indian dishes, and has a slightly sweet taste. Black lentil — a type of small lentil that got its name because of its distinctive black color. Unlike red or yellow lentils, black lentils retain their shape when cooked and are characterized by a better ability to absorb other spicy aromas. Nutritional value Lentils are extremely healthy food. It has an excellent, rich nutritional profile that certainly adds to the variety and quality of our diet. According to the USDA, the largest nutritional database, a 100 gram serving of lentils has 352 calories, of which 63% of calories come from carbohydrates and 25% from protein. It is very low in fat like most vegetables, and only about 1% of energy comes from fat. Water makes up about 8% of the total composition of the lens. Proteins Lentils are very rich in proteins. There are about 25 grams of protein per 100 grams of lentils, which is a splendid amount of protein for a plant-based food. In that sense, it can be a magnificent alternative to meat. Among legumes, they are the second richest in proteins, while soybeans take first place. It has a good ratio of essential and non-essential amino acids in the protein. During cooking or any other heat treatment, the protein properties remain the same and are not lost. Carbohydrates As we said, 63% of the composition of lentils is carbohydrates - there are about 63.5 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams. About 11 grams of carbohydrates belong to fiber. There are 10.7 grams of dietary fiber per 100 grams of lentils, so this amount meets about 11% of the daily fiber needs. Among other legumes, lentils have the highest percentage of insoluble fiber. Lentils are known for their extremely high starch content. The uniqueness of this starch is reflected in its ability to be digested slowly (insoluble fibers also greatly contribute to slower digestion), so lentils have proven to be a good food for diabetics. Part of the carbohydrates in lentils are prebiotics. Prebiotics are very important compounds for our body. They have the role of feeding intestinal bacteria (intestinal flora, intestinal microbiota or gastrointestinal microbiota), which is very significant for maintaining a healthy balance of the organism. The amount of prebiotics ranges from 12 to 14 grams per 100 grams of lentils. Minerals and vitamins Lentils are very low in sodium and fat, and on the contrary, they are rich in the mineral potassium. The correct ratio of potassium to sodium would be 1:30, which makes lentils an excellent food for obese people and people with cardiovascular diseases. Lentils are rich in iron minerals, and with 100 grams of food, they meet about 50% of daily needs. Studies have shown that frequent consumption of cooked lentils has a proven effect on lowering the risk of getting anemia. Lentils are also rich in minerals zinc (35%), magnesium (13%), phosphorus (40%), and calcium (6%). As for vitamins, it is rich in vitamin B complex, of which folates (vitamin B9) stand out the most. The amount of 100 grams of food satisfies, even, 90% of the daily needs for folates. Due to the rich sources of folate and potassium, and iron, and the poor source of sodium, lentils are an excellent food for pregnant women, nursing mothers and developing children. Lentils are also moderately rich in vitamins C and K. You can see all other values of minerals and vitamins, as well as other nutrients, in our table of detailed nutritional values of lentils. How to prepare them Some nutritionists believe that cereals provide the body with all the necessary nutrients, because they are rich in vitamins, minerals and contain the most vegetable proteins. In order to extract as many useful ingredients as possible from cooked dishes, we need to know how to properly prepare these foods, especially how to prepare lentils. Proper cooking of lentils ensures that you preserve the beneficial ingredients. Wash the lentils first under running water to remove the husks and damaged grains. After that, you can soak the lens in water and let it stand for 2–3 hours. In this way, the lentils will swell, which will greatly facilitate and speed up cooking. When cooking lentils, add some salt and limontus. If the lentils are difficult to cook, add 1–2 pinches of baking soda to the pan, as it helps to cook the lentils and beans faster and easier. Drain the cooked lentils and cover them again with warm water. The cooking time of lentils depends on the different types of lentils: — Red lentils are cooked for 10–15 minutes ; — Brown lentils are prepared in about 25–30 minutes ; — Green lentils are cooked for about 40 minutes ; — Orange lentils are cooked for about 20 minutes on the stove. Red lentils are less well known than green. It is a good source of microelements and suits both young and old. It is a good choice for people who are on a diet and want to eat healthy, but do not have too much time to prepare other dishes. The cooking time of green lentils is almost the same as that of red lentils, there are slight differences. When cooking red lentils, it is best to put them in boiling water. Place a pot of water (about 2 cups) or broth on the stove. Add 1 cup of washed lentils and stir. When it boils, reduce the heat of the stove, cover and let it cook. Five minutes before the lentils are cooked, remove them from the heat and add salt to taste. You can also add 2–3 tablespoons of olive oil — that way the lentils will have a more delicate taste, and you can also add other vegetables — carrots, onions, peppers. Don't forget green spices, such as celery, rosemary, bay leaf, parsley! #food #healthyfood #lentils #preparation #nutrition #healthylife #preparation #blog Use the contact form for questions or advice. • Natural Treatment of Hemorrhoids

Natural Treatment of Hemorrhoids Hemorrhoids are enlarged or swollen veins in the lower part of the rectum, which occur equally in men and women. Half of the population over the age of 50 has hemorrhoids. The development of hemorrhoids in people under the age of 20 is unusual, but certainly no one is immune. Hemorrhoids can be external or internal. Internal hemorrhoids occur near the beginning of the anal canal, and external hemorrhoids at the anal opening. Although they do not cause serious health problems, the treatment of hemorrhoids should not be delayed, because the problem will certainly become bigger with time. This text is a little longer, but it will give you a lot of nice and useful tips. Very common symptoms of hemorrhoids or piles are: rectal bleeding, itching and pain. People who have the mentioned problems are often reluctant to see doctors for the examination itself, which they find unpleasant, even though it is not painful. There are numerous natural remedies for the treatment of hemorrhoids, but it is definitely necessary to change lifestyle habits, primarily the way of eating for hemorrhoids, to eliminate alcohol and tobacco, to consume foods with a high fiber content and to consume a sufficient amount of fluids, preferably water. In addition to water, liquids can be taken in the form of mild fruit juices. When we talk about physical activity, it is necessary to walk for at least one hour every day, since regular physical activity stimulates circulation, accelerates metabolism and digestion. Increased body weight, frequent lifting of heavy objects, chronic constipation, long-term sitting, eating too hot, salty and acidic food, lead to problems with hemorrhoids. Problems with hemorrhoids have existed since time immemorial, but today, probably more than ever before, a large number of people are looking for alternative opinions on how the disease should be prevented and treated. Experts primarily recommend people with painful hemorrhoids to sit in warm water for 15 minutes, several times a day - especially after bowel movements. Another very effective, easy-to-use home remedy for hemorrhoids is ice. Apply a cold compress or ice on the anus for 15 to 20 minutes, which will ease the itching and pain and thus reduce hemorrhoids and create a less sensitive area. Do this several times throughout the day, and reduce swelling and pain. You can use a thin cloth to put ice cubes in to prevent the skin from freezing. Poor hygiene contributes to irritation, itching and potential complications. Foods that should be included in the diet to reduce symptoms and cure hemorrhoids are: POTATOES, NUTS, SPINACH, RAISINS, PLUMS, BRAN AND OTHER BREAKFAST GRAINS, VINEGAR, WHOLE GRAIN BREAD, BROCCOLI, BROWN RICE, OATS, ORANGES, AVOCADO, FIGS, BEANS, PAPAYA, GRAINS, APPLES, PEAS. Increase your fiber intake, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, beans and cereals. Without taking in more fluids, especially water, it will not be complete, since dehydration can lead to constipation, which worsens the symptoms of hemorrhoids. To relieve constipation and get rid of hemorrhoids, is to drink at least one glass of water with each meal and snack during the day. Straining during a bowel movement can be painful and make the condition even worse, so don't wait too long to go to the toilet, pay attention to the signals your body gives you. These foods should be avoided: ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, SPICY FOODS, CAFFEINED BEVERAGES SUCH AS COFFEE AND Fizzy Drinks, WHITE BREAD, BAKERY PRODUCTS MADE OF REFINED FLOUR SUCH AS PASTRY, CAKES AND PIES, PASTA. Meal time and quantity are very important, you should have 4-5 smaller meals during the day, as this allows for better digestion. Do not go to sleep on a full stomach, the last meal should be at least two hours before going to sleep. The occurrence of hemorrhoids (hemorrhoids) is mostly caused by a wrong lifestyle. • Healthy Substitutes for White Sugar

Healthy Substitutes for White Sugar It is sugar in various forms that is the main culprit for the appearance of diabetes, obesity, and many other cardiovascular diseases. Not to mention tooth decay and sugar addiction, to which children as well as adults are exposed. You have probably read more than once about whether and how much sugar is bad for our health. This substance does not have any vitamins or minerals, just an intoxicating sweet taste that excites our receptors in the brain, creating a false feeling of satiety. In short, it's about empty calories. We certainly distinguish between bad sugars and those that we need in order to have enough energy to endure a hard day or training. Bad sugars are bad because our body doesn't recognize them as energy and stores them as fat around the waist. You can be lucky that your metabolism works faster and uses more energy, but the fact remains that the body has more places to store all that energy than to use it up from all the sugar it has ingested. This is just one bad characteristic of sugar, from which many others arise, again, not at all favorable for our body. What is it about sugar that spoils us? Sugar is composed of glucose and fructose. Glucose is needed in order for our cells to develop, while fructose is stored in the liver and taken as needed. This principle refers to the average amounts of healthy sugars that are taken in, and any increased intake that we take in from sweets and juices, encourages the liver to turn the excess sugar into fat. Why choose natural sugar substitutes? Although there is no study that proves that consuming artificial sugars is good for our body, there is still a debate about how healthy it is to use something that is obtained artificially. Artificial sweeteners are synthetic substitutes for sugar and have no caloric value. Since they do not even have a complete taste, they mix with each other, which is why they should not be used in large quantities. The most famous artificial sweeteners are saccharin and aspartame. Sugar creates a food addiction by releasing a large amount of dopamine in the brain. If you don't want to completely give up sweets, but something must still be found in cakes, then these 8 varieties of natural sugar substitutes will come in handy. Stevia This South American plant is the best natural sweetener, and has been cultivated for more than 1,500 years. The natives called it the sweet honey plant, but despite its obvious beneficial effect, stevia was only allowed for use in the USA in 2008, and in Serbia only in 2011. Stevia is claimed to regulate blood sugar, does not raise glucose levels, so it is suitable for diabetics. What's important to know is that stevia is much sweeter than regular sugar, which is why even small amounts last longer. It is also claimed to be an excellent dietary supplement for those suffering from candida or simply taking care of their body. How is stevia used? You can use stevia extract to sweeten various desserts, from puddings to cakes, as well as various drinks. Depending on how sweet you like something, add more stevia. Be sure to read the declaration and check if it is a pure stevia, and you can also find powdered stevia. One cup of sugar equals one teaspoon of stevia. Honey Honey is an splendid substitute for sugar because in a completely natural form it has the much-needed glucose that is beneficial to the human body. It contains slightly fewer vitamins, but is rich in antioxidants. A spoonful of honey has 65 calories, which is why it's great to eat honey after hard physical work. How is honey used? Of course, honey should also be taken in reasonable measures, because despite its nutritional properties, it is still a type of sugar. If you use honey as a substitute for sugar in cake recipes, be sure to reduce the liquid part by three spoons, add a little baking powder and bake at 25 degrees less. When you use honey in processed food, it loses its healing properties. Unfortunately, the same applies to putting it in coffee or tea. If you don't care about vitamins but only about taste, then honey is the right choice. Otherwise, use pure and raw honey to get all that it has to offer. One cup of sugar equals 1/4 cup of honey. Agave nectar Agave syrup or nectar is produced in Mexico and is obtained from the blue agave plant. Agave nectar is slightly sweeter than regular sugar and has 60 calories per tablespoon. It is a relatively new product that has not been fully researched, and its nutritional characteristics have not yet shown results. Agave nectar is most recommended for diabetics because it has a low glycemic index. How to use agave syrup? It can be used as a topping for pancakes and fruit salads. The Aztecs used agave syrup mixed with salt as a salve for wounds and skin infections, which is still often used today in Central America as a folk traditional medicine. Agave syrup does not contain starch, so it is suitable for use by people who are intolerant to gluten. It contains fiber, so it affects the better functioning of the digestive system. Maple syrup This syrup is also a natural sweetener obtained from the resin of special types of maple trees. It has 52 calories per tablespoon, and unlike the one used for pancakes, real maple syrup contains more manganese, riboflavin (vitamin B2), zinc, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. One cup of sugar equals 3/4 cup of syrup. How is maple syrup used? In addition to providing an exceptional flavor to dishes, maple syrup also has multiple nutritional properties. If you want to replace the sugar in the recipe with maple syrup, you need to reduce the liquid part of the recipe by three tablespoons and add 1/4 baking powder for every quarter cup of syrup. If you are baking or cooking, reduce the temperature by 25 degrees. It is an excellent addition to recipes for energy bread or morning oatmeal. Coconut sugar Coconut sugar or palm sugar is a relatively unknown product in these areas, and it is obtained from coconut resin. It contains zinc and calcium, as well as antioxidants, which makes it a splendid substitute for sugar. It has a low glycemic index, lower than sugar. Diabetics can use it as a sweetener, but with the same caution as with any other sugar. What is important is that coconut sugar is the most similar to regular sugar, yet it is healthier. However, like agave syrup, coconut sugar has a lot of calories as well as fructose, which is why it should not be used in large quantities. How to use coconut sugar? It is an ideal addition to all smoothie juices, various desserts as well as oatmeal. In cooking, it is used to soften spicy dishes. Molasses Molasses is a thick, dark syrup obtained by boiling sugar cane. It contains vitamins and minerals, and a teaspoon of molasses provides ten percent of the daily recommended amount of copper, iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Molasses is still very close to sugar, so it should not be used daily in the diet. How to use molasses? Molasses is less common in food and more in cosmetics. Molasses extracts promote healthy hair growth and soften hair, add rich texture and prevent premature graying. Birch sugar - Xylitol This type of sugar alcohol resembles sugar, and is extracted from corn or birch. It has 40 % fewer calories than white sugar. Xylitol does not raise blood sugar, so it is also recommended for diabetics. It is ideal for those who struggle with candida, and in children it reduces the occurrence of caries. Xylitol is obtained similarly to maple syrup — by cutting the bark. How to use xylitol? It is important to know that xylitol can act as a laxative, and the body needs time to get used to its presence. Likewise, xylitol should not be used in making dough and cakes because it prevents it from rising. You can add it to coffees and teas, just like white sugar. Erythrol It is another type of sugar alcohol that has even fewer calories. Erythrol does not raise blood sugar, insulin, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels. It is considered safe for diabetics to consume and is well tolerated. Erythritol occurs naturally in a variety of foods, including many fruits and mushrooms, as well as in fermented foods such as cheese, wine, beer, and soy sauce. How is erythrol used? This sugar is recommended for those who are on a special diet, such as the LCHF diet, which implies less intake of carbohydrates and more fat. Precisely for those who are on such a diet, tiramisu with erythrole is the right choice for sweetening in accordance with their diet. HOW TO CHOOSE A SUBSTITUTE SUGAR? Whether you want to eat healthier sugars or manage your weight, choose your replacement based on your goal. Be aware of the side effects of each sugar substitute and how much you can actually use them. Most sugar substitutes are completely natural, but their caloric value is quite similar to white sugar. Don't forget that some sugars have different tastes, which is why you have to get used to them. Take care of your health, and you can do that if you minimally or completely reduce the use of white sugar, as well as the refined sugar that comes from store-bought sweets. #health #alternative #medicine #diabetes #substitute #sugar #healthy #natural #white #tips #blog #coffeetimelena Use the contact form for questions or advice. • Tiny yet Powerful

Tiny yet Powerful-Sprouts You can start the day with sprouts in oatmeal or yogurt, they go well in soups and stews, they are stuffed into minced meat dishes, as well as fried, they partially replace onions and mushrooms. There is a legend that in the 18th century, sailors led by Jameson Cook who suffered from scurvy, a disease caused by a lack of vitamin C, found salvation in a diet rich in various germs. They grew them themselves and thus provided them with a constant source of this important vitamin. Although tiny like grasses, sprouts are rich in vitamins and enzymes. They give the body energy and much-needed nutrients because they are valid for plants at their peak of strength and vitality. All substances that are in the seed during germination are activated and change from a complex to a simpler form, starch to simple sugars, proteins and amino acids. Experts recommend them fresh, although they can be thermally processed, especially the seeds of lentils, corn, peas, soybeans, and wheat. During spring and summer, they are especially welcome because they cool the body, so sprouts should be added to the daily menu. They mix well in different dishes. You can start the day with them, for example, with a healthy breakfast of oatmeal or yogurt. Sprouts go well in soups and stews, fillings in minced meat dishes as well as fried ones where they partially replace onions and mushrooms. They are also compatible with omelets, especially vegetable dishes, salads, and are added to ground products. They are used as a substitute for other salads, they are used in sandwiches or savory pancakes, in bread dough and in increasingly popular Chinese dishes. Sprouts can also be made at home, but it takes "a little time to get into the trick." First, healthy organic seeds must be obtained. You should soak them and leave them at room temperature around 20 °C. Depending on the species, they should stand for one to seven days. The highest nutritional value of seeds and legumes is about seventy hours after the beginning of germination, after which that value decreases. Among the legumes are: beans, soybeans, chickpeas, peas, lentils, and among the cereals: wheat, corn, oats, sesame, rye, and barley. Broccoli, radishes, mustard, onions, and chives are no less tasty and nutritious. The sprouts of most plants are tasty, some are a little bitter or germinate too slowly, and only a few are harmful, such as potato sprouts. If grown at home, they must be washed well to remove potentially harmful microorganisms and always stored in the refrigerator. With all precautions, you should rely on sight, smell, and taste when evaluating freshness. And the first alarm is the smell of mold. As an additional precaution, heat treatment is advised, and darkness, heat and not too much moisture are the most important elements of cultivation. And advice: you should not overdo it with sprouts in your diet. Wheat Germ Put the washed wheat in a glass jar and cover it with lukewarm water, two fingers of seeds and three fingers of water, and let it stand for 12 hours. Then strain the grains and do not throw away the water but drink it because it is full of minerals and vitamins. Cover the jar with cotton gauze and secure it with a rubber band. Until the sprouts grow from 1.5 cm to 2 cm, rinse them once or twice a day with cold water. They must always be moist, but never wet. Place the sprouts in the sun for a few hours before use. Unused ones can be stored for several days in the refrigerator, sealed in a glass container, but they should also be rinsed daily with cold water. #health #alternative #medicine #food #wheat #germ #sprouts #beans #soybeans #chickpea #peas #lentils #corn #oats #sesame #barley #rye #healthy #healthyfood #nutritions #vitamins #enzymes #grasses #energy #vitality #strength #blog #coffeetimelena #healthylife #life #foodblogger Use the contact form for questions or advice.
