Watermelon seeds for health

Watermelon is a seasonal vegetable rich in many nutrients. It contains antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Of the vitamins it contains A, B and C. Watermelon hydrates the body, remineralizes it, and also has antioxidant and diuretic effects.

Most of us neglect and reject watermelon seeds, and they contain incredible health benefits, which we will now introduce you to.

1. Watermelon seeds act as a laxative

Many stones, present in various types of fruits and vegetables, act as natural laxatives, improving the work of the intestines. Many people eat watermelon with all the seeds, while others keep and dry the seeds, only to later make tea from them, which helps with persistent constipation. The seeds are also used to treat intestinal parasites.

2. Watermelon seeds purify the body and preserve kidney health

Watermelon seed tea has long been used as an effective natural remedy for cleansing the kidneys and breaking down kidney stones. Seeds have a diuretic effect, purify the body, eliminate accumulated toxins and improve kidney function. They can eliminate substances that accumulate in the kidneys, forming stones or sand.

Preparation of tea: Crush 4 tablespoons of fresh watermelon seeds or grind with a mill. Then cook them in 2 liters of water for 15 minutes. Divide and drink this dose of tea for 2 days in a row, and take a break on the third day. Consume this tea for a few weeks, using the mentioned method, drink tea for 2 days, then a break for 1 day, and so on.

3. Watermelon seeds for cardiovascular health

Antioxidants are present in watermelon seeds, which have a beneficial effect on blood vessels, dilating them, so that they are ideal for people suffering from atherosclerosis, high blood pressure (hypertension) or angina pectoris. They are also useful for strengthening the heart muscle.

4. Watermelon seeds are very nutritious

Due to its nutritional value, it is a pity to throw watermelon seeds, use them! These dark seeds are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that is also found in tomatoes. In addition, they contain large amounts of magnesium and zinc. They are recommended for people with chronic fatigue.

5. Watermelon pits for men

These bones are used to treat inflammation of the prostate, a disease that often occurs in men over the age of 40. They are also used to improve potency and libido. What you need to do is make tea from these seeds. Take 2 tablespoons of dried and ground watermelon seeds, and pour them with 1 liter of boiled water. Let the liquid stand for about 30 minutes, and then you can consume it, without squeezing. Drink this dose every day for several weeks. The first results can be noticed after 10 days of consuming this tea.

6. Watermelon seeds for the treatment of Escherichia coli

Watermelon seed tea is one of the best natural remedies for eliminating Escherichia coli bacteria. To prepare this tea, collect 30-40 fresh watermelon seeds (although dried ones can also be used). Chop them (grind, grind) and put in 1 liter of water, cook for about 10 minutes. After cooking, leave the tea to cool, then drink it (you can also keep it in the fridge, as needed). Drink 1 liter of this tea daily, for many weeks, or many months, to be exact, until you completely eliminate Escherichia coli. We recommend that you collect a sufficient amount of watermelon seeds during the summer, so that you can use them to prepare tea even after the summer, when watermelons are no longer available. This tea can be consumed by both children and adults.

  • In addition to using them to make tea, you can also bake watermelon seeds. Wash the black watermelon seeds and place them on a cloth to dry (or on paper). When dry, bake them in the oven at a moderate temperature for 20–25 minutes. Never bake them at a high temperature, because that way you will destroy all their medicinal ingredients. During baking, occasionally spray the seeds with a little water and salt. This preparation of watermelon seeds is a favorite of the Egyptians.
