## Savory Delight: Baked Fennel au Gratin
Italians traditionally enjoy consuming fennel, which is both easy to prepare and follows the original recipe. For those who appreciate healthy fats, fennel can also be paired with diced bacon. This dish is low in calories. Follow the recipe.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 45 min.
2 fennels/ cut into ribs
7 Tbsp breadcrumbs
8 tsp Parmesan cheese/ grated
Olive oil EVO to taste
salt and pepper to taste
parsley leaves/ finely chopped
Preparation:
Clean a fennel and cut it into slices about half a cm thick. Then put them to soak for about 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly to remove any earth residues.
Arrange the fennel slices in a baking dish forming a single layer. Try to fill any free space. Then sprinkle with extra virgin olive oil and season it (it will help the breadcrumbs adhere to the vegetable).
Sprinkle the fennel slices with plenty of breadcrumbs.
Add the Parmesan until all the fennel in the pan is covered. Then sprinkle with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 200 ° C for about 20-25 minutes. For the last 10 minutes of cooking, switch on the grill function of the oven. Remove from the oven,decorate with parsley and serve!
