Paws Biscuits

  • Delicious paws, walnut biscuits, Serbian specialty. Biscuits ideal for celebrations, or some birthdays' preparation is easy and quick. Soft and fine, you have to try. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min.
  • 250 g of lard

  • 250 g of ground walnuts

  • 3 eggs

  • 500 g flour

  • 1 vanilla

  • powder sugar for sprinkle

  • metal molds for paws

  • if you like, you can also add 1 grated lemon peel

Preparation:
  1. Mix the fat and sugar well by hand to combine nicely. Add eggs, nuts, and flour and mix again to get a nice dough.

  2. Coat each mold with a little fat and sprinkle with flour.

  3. Fill the molds, but not completely because they rise a little during baking. Bake at 180 °C for about 15–20 minutes.

  4. When they are ready, leave them to cool, then take them out of the mold and roll them in powdered sugar and vanilla.

  5. When they are made a few days before the celebration, then the day when you will serve, roll in sugar. Until then, they are stored in a closed container with a lid. Stored in this way, they can stand for 10 days. Buon appetito!
