Crispy and delectable, these decorative cheese pies are both perfect and incredibly tasty. Their preparation is straightforward and efficient, taking only 25 minutes to complete. To make these pies, you will need 12 thin crusts, cheese, yogurt or milk, and a small amount of sour cream. Simply follow the recipe for best results.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min. 6 pies
1 pack thin crust/ 12 sheets
Filling:
200 g crumble cow cheese
200 ml milk/ or yogurt
2 eggs
salt as needed
1 tsp baking powder
50-70 ml oil
grated Trappist cheese/ for sprinkle — optional
Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients for the filling into a smooth cream. Add salt if the cheese lacks saltiness.
Prepare an oven tray and line it with baking paper.
On the work surface, spread a thin layer of filling over the crust, place another crust on top, and spread 2–3 spoons of filling.
Pinch the edges of the crusts with your fingers to form petal-like shapes.
Place a spoonful of cheese in the center.
Fold each petal over the cheese stack and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Repeat this process with the remaining ingredients.
Brush the prepared pies with oil.
Optionally, you may add grated Trappist cheese or Gouda in the center.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for approximately 20–25 minutes.
Serve warm.
Buon appetito!
NOTE:
You may substitute some of the aforementioned ingredients with miller cream, Philadelphia, or Gouda cheese. For a healthier option, replace regular thin crusts with whole wheat thin crusts, as utilized in this recipe. Additionally, Greek yogurt and soy milk can be used as alternatives.
Wrap the pies with plastic wrap to store them for the following day.
