Preparation:

Bark:

  1. Combine all the dough ingredients in the pot, except for the flour. Use a whisk to thoroughly mix the ingredients together.

  2. Cook over low heat until the mixture begins to foam, indicating that the baking soda is activated.

  3. Remove from heat and gradually incorporate the flour.

  4. Knead the dough until it is smooth and non-sticky.

  5. Divide the dough into four portions and roll out four crusts on baking paper.

  6. Roll them as thinly as possible. You may place baking paper over the crusts to roll them out simultaneously.

  7. Bake the crusts on an inverted baking sheet for 4 to 5 minutes at 160 to 170°C.

  8. The crusts will be ready shortly.

  9. Once all four crusts are baked, cover them with a cloth to cool while preparing the filling for the cakes.

Filling:

  1. Pour 400 ml of milk into a pot, reserving a small amount. In a separate bowl, mix the reserved milk with 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of flour.

  2. Incorporate 4 teaspoons of sugar into the milk using a sieve.

  3. Simmer over low heat until the sugar dissolves completely.

  4. Once the sugar has dissolved and the milk begins to boil, gradually stir in the flour mixture, ensuring no lumps form.

  5. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens, then remove from heat and allow to cool.

  6. Combine with 150 g of butter or margarine, which has been previously whipped with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

  7. Divide the mixture into three portions and use to fill the crust.

  8. The final layer should be a chocolate glaze, not the filling.

Glaze:

  1. In a steamer, melt the chocolate and incorporate the oil, then evenly pour the mixture over the cake. Allow the glaze to solidify.

  2. Once the cake has cooled, let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature before slicing. Use a sharp knife to cut the cake into sticks or cubes.

Buon appetito!
