Chicken with asparagus in Worcestershire sauce, easy to prepare and quick to cook in half an hour, you can combine it with rice, a restaurant for young potatoes or with a salad or Brussels sprouts. It tastes great, and I recommend making them because asparagus is very healthy
Ingredients: total time 30 min, very easy, 3 persons
600 g chicken breast
600 g asparagus
5 cloves of garlic/ minced
2 cm fresh ginger
2 Tbsp llight soy sauce
1. 5 tsp sugar
4 Tbsp oyster sauce
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
100 ml Chinese wine
3 Tbsp ketchup
3 spring onion/ green part finely chopped
seed oil to taste
salt and pepper to taste
white pepper to taste
Preparation:
Begin by selecting a wok pan. Clean the lower ends of the asparagus, as these parts are woody and unsuitable for this dish. Cut the asparagus into 3-4 cm lengths and set aside.
Place the asparagus stalks in the pan with a small amount of oil and fry over moderately low heat.
Reserve the asparagus tips for later use, as they are the more tender portion.
Meanwhile, finely chop the garlic and add it to the pan with the asparagus. After a few minutes, incorporate the asparagus tips into the pan, reduce the heat, and stir.
After frying for 2 minutes, add soy sauce, a small amount of sugar, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Stir and continue to fry for an additional 4-5 minutes.
Once the asparagus is cooked, transfer it to a bowl along with the sauce.
Proceed to prepare the chicken by cutting it into thin fillet pieces.
Place the chicken pieces in a bowl, add Chinese wine (or Marsala as an alternative), and mix well. Allow the chicken to marinate for approximately 10 minutes.
During this time, peel the ginger and either grate or finely chop it.
Chop a clove of garlic into small pieces. At this point, you are ready to prepare the chicken.
Heat a small amount of oil in the wok pan over moderately low heat.
Add the garlic and ginger, frying for 2 minutes before adding the marinated chicken. Stir the mixture.
Once the chicken is cooked, season with salt to taste, Worcestershire sauce, and oyster sauce. Stir until the ingredients are well absorbed.
Finally, add ketchup and stir until the mixture is uniform.
Once the sauce achieves a desirable color, incorporate the asparagus and mix thoroughly. Allow the mixture to soak for 1-2 minutes.
Turn off the heat and slice the green parts of young onions into rings, adding them to the wok pan while reserving a portion for garnish.
Serve the dish with rice, roasted mashed potatoes, green salad, or roasted Brussels sprouts.
Buon appetito!
