Ingredients for the Soup

To prepare this wonderful winter soup, you will need a selection of fresh, vibrant ingredients that not only enhance the taste but also boost the nutritional value. Here’s what you’ll need:

- Potatoes: These starchy vegetables serve as the base of the soup, providing a creamy texture when cooked and mashed slightly. They are also a great source of carbohydrates, giving you the energy needed during the cold months.

- Carrots: Their natural sweetness adds depth to the flavor, while they are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body, promoting good vision and a healthy immune system.

- Stalk of Leek: This aromatic vegetable contributes a mild onion flavor that elevates the overall taste of the soup. Leeks are also a good source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as beneficial antioxidants.

- Onion: A staple in many dishes, onions provide a savory base and enhance the soup's flavor. They are also known for their anti-inflammatory properties and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

- Cloves of Garlic: Garlic not only adds a wonderful aroma but also brings numerous health benefits, including boosting the immune system and providing antimicrobial properties.

- Fennel with Stalk: This unique ingredient imparts a subtle anise flavor, which complements the other vegetables beautifully. Fennel is known for its digestive benefits and is rich in vitamins C and K.

- Ginger: Adding a touch of warmth, ginger not only spices up the soup but also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, making it a perfect addition for winter wellness.

- Turmeric: This vibrant yellow spice is renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties and contributes a warm flavor and beautiful color to the soup.

- Dried Mint: A sprinkle of dried mint adds a refreshing note that balances the richness of the other ingredients, enhancing the overall flavor profile of the soup.

- Salt: A crucial seasoning that brings out the flavors of all the ingredients, ensuring the soup is well-balanced.

- Olive Oil: Used for sautéing the vegetables, olive oil adds a healthy fat component and enhances the flavor, making the soup more satisfying.

- Chicken Broth: The broth acts as the foundation of the soup, infusing it with rich, savory flavors. It also provides additional nutrients that are beneficial for overall health.

- Chicken Pieces: Adding pieces of chicken not only enriches the soup with protein but also makes it heartier, transforming it from a simple vegetable soup into a fulfilling meal.
