  • Mediterranean salad is a fantastic dish that offers incredible versatility, making it an excellent choice for lunch, especially when paired with seafood such as fish or lobster. This combination not only enhances the flavors but also provides a nutritious meal that is satisfying and hearty. The salad is particularly advantageous for those who are adhering to a strict diet, especially when prepared without high-calorie additions like mayonnaise. Instead, the fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean can help you feel full and energized. Moreover, this salad is perfect for hot summer days when the thought of cooking can be daunting. It requires minimal preparation time, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing meal without the hassle of extensive cooking.

  • A salad incorporating seafood such as octopus or mackerel can be quite filling, as it includes a well-rounded mix of essential nutrients. When I prepared this salad, I made sure to present it separately on the plate, with one side showcasing a drained can of mackerel, which is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and protein. For my husband, I opted for octopus that was already cooked and available at the market. If you prefer to grill your octopus, it is crucial to first simmer it for at least 45 minutes to ensure tenderness, depending on its size. If seafood isn't your preference, you can easily substitute with boiled eggs, which add a unique flavor and are a great source of protein, making the salad even more nutritious and beneficial for weight loss. The eggs should be boiled for approximately 10-11 minutes to achieve the perfect hard-boiled consistency. Throughout a three-week period, I experimented with various combinations of this salad and managed to lose 4 kilograms. I incorporated it into my lunch and dinner at least three times a week, often pairing it with a thicker, larger salmon fillet for added richness. For those following a strict diet, I recommend starting your day with a breakfast that is high in protein while keeping carbohydrates low, complemented by a good dose of vitamin C. Incorporating foods like sardines, mackerel, and salmon into your meals, followed by a refreshing glass of squeezed orange juice or lemonade, can be quite beneficial. I have found this combination to be effective and enjoyable over the long term. Additionally, consider using avocado as a delightful spread on toast, which not only adds creaminess but also boosts the nutritional value of your breakfast. You can find the recipe for this delicious avocado toast here.
