Meat pie in puff pastry is a straightforward and quick preparation, making it an ideal appetizer for any occasion. It can be enjoyed for breakfast or dinner. Please follow the recipe.
Ingredients: simple, total time 70 min.
2 sheets of puff pastry/ 500 g
Filling:
3 Tbsp Olive oil EVO
1 big onion/ finely chopped
350 g minced meat/ pork and beef
1 tsp dry spice Vegeta
salt to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper/ or to taste
Topping:
2 eggs/ scrambled
200 ml sour milk/ or yogurt
salt to taste
sesame seeds
Preparation:
Lightly grease a baking pan that matches the size of the puff pastry sheets.
Begin by preparing the minced meat filling.
Sauté the onion in a large pan for a few minutes until it becomes translucent.
Add the minced meat, combine thoroughly, and season with spices, salt, pepper, and Vegeta. Stir well.
Simmer for approximately 20–23 minutes, covering and stirring occasionally.
Once the filling is ready, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool.
In the greased baking dish, place one sheet of puff pastry, then evenly spread the cooled filling over it.
Cover the filling with the second sheet of puff pastry, ensuring all edges are sealed properly.
Refrigerate for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, beat the eggs, then incorporate the sour milk and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly.
Cut the pastry into cubes using a knife, creating a 4×3 grid.
Pour the egg mixture over the pastry, gently massaging it into the ingredients in a circular motion for a few minutes, then let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
Bake in the preheated oven at 180 °C for approximately 35–40 minutes.
Allow the finished pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Buon appetito!
