Updated: Mar 11

  • This is a variation of a fasting salad with a very specific recipe. What we have to emphasize is that this salad is healthier than the basic recipe, with a significantly different recipe than the one we are used to. You will need the following ingredients:

Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min.
  • 3 medium cans of tuna

  • 100 g of champignons- mushrooms from a jar

  • 150 g of peanuts

  • 80 g of sesame seeds

  • 300 g of light mayonnaise

  • 5 sour red peppers

  • 5 small little sour cucumbers/gherkins

  • 400 g of sweet corn

  • 1 bunch of fresh primrose leaves

  • 2 pinches of oregano

  • 2 pinches of ground pepper salt to taste are optional.

Preparation:
  1. First open the cans of tuna and strain the oil through a sieve.

  2. The same should be done with mushrooms, cucumbers and pickled peppers.

  3. Chop the peanuts in a chopper or blender, and lightly fry the sesame seeds in a pan without oil until golden brown.

  4. Cook the sweet corn for up to 10 minutes.

  5. During that time, cut cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms into cubes.

  6. Mix tuna with cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, peanuts, sesame seeds and corn.

  7. Chop the first leaf link as well.

  8. Combine everything well and then add mayonnaise, oregano and pepper, then salt.

  11. There is another variation where it is made with grilled chicken, or where it is made with macaroni. Feel free to experiment on your own when it comes to tastes, but also the decoration of the festive table.

  12. You can add the salad to dough baskets, which are made in muffin tins.

  13. You can also put the salad in glass jars and decorate with olives, arugula, cherry tomatoes. Enjoy in bites!
