Soft Lean Rolls with Walnuts

  • One of the many recipes you must try. Lean rolls filled with walnuts, you can add one grated apple and cinnamon to them if you wish. Quick and easy preparation. The dough is soft and delicious. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: baking tray oven, simple, 30 rolls, total time: 110 min.
  • 300-400 g of flour 00

  • 200 ml of lukewarm water

  • 100 g butter melted

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • pinch of salt

  • 40 g fresh yeast cube

  • 200 g of ground walnuts

  • 4 Tablespoon of sugar/ or to taste as desired for mixing with nuts

  • 1 Tablespoon of oil



  1. Dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm water with a 1 teaspoon of sugar. Then mix with the previously combined oil, flour, salt, and the rest of the 150 ml water.

  2. Knead a softer dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Then roll out thinly and spread with softened margarine.

  3. Wrap dough in a roll and let it stand for another 15 minutes.

  4. Roll out again, spread a little with margarine and fold like a book.

  5. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 5 mm, spread again and cut in half, then cut into triangles.

  6. Sugar the walnuts, you can also add (one grated apple + a little cinnamon to the filling), then put a teaspoon of the filling in each triangle. Roll up the rolls, arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper, then let them rest for 15 minutes.

  7. Coat each roll with the remaining melted margarine and bake at 200 °C for 15–20 minutes.

  8. While they are still hot, roll in powdered sugar if desired, although they are very tasty without it.
