Essential Oils and Healthy Skin

Updated: Mar 5

  • By using essential oils, we keep our skin healthy. Here is 7 essential oil, my favorite!

  • The skin changes with aging, but there are some things we can react to in time and slow down the aging process, with less steam and good natural ingredients. You will make your skin velvety, young and with less visible wrinkles.

  • One of the best ways and effectiveness against anti-aging are essential oils, and I will single out a few that have an amazing anti-aging effect!

Helichrysum Essential Oil:

  • This is one of the French essential oils, and they call it “immortal flower”, it incredibly helps against skin aging, it has a healing and soothing effect, it also helps to remove age spots, scars, and wrinkles.

  • This oil can be used every night before bed, you can mix 1–2 drops with night moisturizer, it has a good smell and the drops work.

  • As for Helichrysum oil: it is better to pay more for this oil and the quality is better, after all, why would you use bad oil with lower quality.

Frankincense essential oil:

  • Frankincense essential oil is one of the oils I use and is my favorite with my skin. Incense otherwise increases the growth of skin cells, gives elasticity to the skin, reduces the signs of aging (age spots) and improves the firmness of the skin on the hands and face.

  • It can be mixed with your favorite anti-age cream with 1–2 drops applied to the face and arms and neck, it can also be mixed with other essential oils in combination with anti-aging skin.

  • Frankincense essential oil is not as expensive as Helichrysum essential oil, but in my opinion it is still very expensive. Still worth it.

  • You need to know that quality essential oils are more expensive, and that is because of how much plant matter is needed to create even a small amount of essential oil. It is about the purity of the essential oil and other factors. But it is still cheaper compared to creams from French anti-aging cosmetics stores.

Lavender essential oil:

  • One of mine favorite essential oil to help fight wrinkles is lavender essential oil. Not as expensive as the first two oils! It is important to be sure to buy quality and pure essential oil, without additives or chemicals. It contains high levels of antioxidants that nourish your skin and help fight free radicals that cause skin damage. Likewise, it also soothes and helps revive tired skin. Furthermore, it has been proven to reduce emotional stress and anxiety, helping you to be calm. When you are calm and happy, your skin will be happier --- and it will be less likely to age faster than it should. Lavender also helps you sleep, which also helps your skin.

  • As lavender essential oil is used, you can add it to soaps and even bath milk, it can be rubbed into the temples and around the hair before bed. It can be combined for serums with other essential oils, like I do.

Rose essential oil:

  • I love rose essential oil, and I use it in small doses because it is expensive. If you can afford it, it is a great essential oil to combat skin aging. Be sure when buying this oil that it is pure and real oil, because branded products may appear on the market without being of lower quality. This rose oil helps maintain skin moisture and helps in skin elasticity and stimulates the growth of new cells, reduces skin inflammation and protects the skin from free radicals. It has a wonderful scent!

Rosemary essential oil:

  • According to some research, rosemary essential oil can help fight wrinkles and firm the skin. It is also great for circulation. However, rosemary oil is not very suitable for dry skin, it can be used more by those who have oily skin because it helps reduce excess oil on the skin. The oil is especially good for those who have a problem with oily skin and acne.

  • Rosemary oil can be used as an additive in shampoos and conditioners for hair regeneration or helps to thin the hair, because it stimulates hair follicles.

Lemon essential oil:

  • Lemon essential oil helps prevent wrinkles, because it can help exfoliate the skin. It contains a high amount of vitamin C, which helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles and whitens the skin. If you want to use this oil, you should know that it is photo-toxic, which means that it can burn your skin if you go out in the sun.

  • Therefore, do not use it in creams during the day. Use only at night. You can use it in night creams as a supplement or with rose water to clean your face all evening, never during the day!

Carrot seed oil:

  • Carrot seed oil can be used as an essential oil or as an oil carrier. It is certainly fantastic to use for the skin, smooth and repairs the outer layer of the skin and has a high level of flavonoids that help with inflammation. Carrot essential oil has a wonderful scent, and small amounts of this oil do their job on your skin.

  • It is not a bad combination to use carrot seed oil with essential carrot oil. You can also mix carrot essential oil with other serum oils or be some additives in your moisturizing day creams.

Geranium essential oil:

  • Helps reduce stress and maintain relaxation and balances hormones. Its antibacterial properties also help remove body odor. It is used as an ingredient in perfumes and cosmetics, in aromatherapy for the treatment of numerous health conditions. In aromatherapy, essential oils are inhaled using a diffuser or diluted with carrier oils and applied to the skin for soothing benefits.

  • The researchers came to the conclusion and their studies on animal and human testing that there is evidence of their benefits. It is considered to have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and astringent properties.
