Moroccan Biscuits

Updated: Feb 14

  • Beautiful and soft Moroccan cookies. They are easy to prepare and ready quickly. You can serve them with hot tea or coffee. If you want more cookies, double the quantities, except for baking powder is quite enough for that double amount. Follow recipes.

Ingredients: easy, total time: 50 min., 12 cookies
  • 200 g of flour 00

  • 50 ml of oil

  • 10 gr of baking powder/1 sachet

  • 3 Tablespoons of icing sugar + just enough for rolling cookies

  • 1 egg

  • 1 grated lemon peel

  • 1 juice of lemon

Preparation:
  1. Stir the eggs with the sugar, whisk to a froth. Add lemon peel, oil, lemon juice, a pinch of salt and stir again. Gradually add flour mixed with baking powder, when the dough becomes consistent, mix with your hands. When you get a nice, smooth dough and consistently, cover with nylon foil and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Pour the powdered sugar into a deeper plate, take the dough, form balls the size of a smaller meatball and roll it in powdered sugar. Make sure the bottom is flat when you create the balls.

  3. Then place them in a greased baking tray, on which you have placed the baked paper.

  4. Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 20 minutes.

  5. When the biscuits are done, leave to cool and serve.

Buon appetito!
