An old recipe for a cough medicine

Updated: Mar 27

  • An old recipe for a cough medicine in traditional gluten-free fasting. This is the time of colds and viruses. Everyone is coughing and snoring, especially children. There are countless cough syrups lurking in the pharmacy, which are not cheap at all. You know how successful they are. In my opinion, it is best to turn to alternative medicine, where there are more natural and cheaper effects that really give results. One is milk and caramelized sugar sherbet, and the other is apple and onion tea. This is the time of colds and viruses. Everyone is coughing and snoring, especially children. When you enter the pharmacy, countless cough syrups are lurking from the shelves, which are not cheap at all. You know best how effective they are … I do not persuade anyone to turn their backs on modern pharmacy and medicine, but there are more natural and cheaper alternatives that really give results. The first recipe is sherbet made from milk and caramelized sugar, and the second recipe is apple and onion tea. Proven, they both do their job! Everyone probably knows how to make sherbet, but let's remind ourselves. As for this other old medicine, it doesn't have such a fantastic taste, but it is much more effective. For adults, the younger population is incredible! Drink both drinks warm, lies in the effectiveness of this medicine. In any case, rest and patience will pass, of course.

Ingredients for Sherbet:
  • 3 teaspoons sugar

  • 200 milk

  • 5 g butter

Preparation:
  1. In a small saucepan, add sugar and put on a moderately high heat to caramelize and turn a little in a circle of the saucepan. Make sure the caramel doesn't burn. Pour the milk over the melted caramel. The caramel will crystallize and harden. Leave on the fire and, while stirring, wait for the sherbet to boil. When the caramel has melted in the milk, add the butter, stir and pour into a cup to cool slightly. Drink warm now!

Onion and apple tea
Ingredients:
  • 1 onion

  • 1 apple

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 10 g of fresh ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 liter of water

Preparation:
  1. Clean the apples and cut them into slices with the help of Tefal Fresh Express.

  2. Clean the onion and cut it into half rings, and clean and mash the garlic with a knife. Ginger, clean and chop. Put all the ingredients in the pot and pour over the water.

  3. Cook until it boils and then reduce the heat and cook for another 5 minutes until the apples are soft. Strain the desired amount and leave to cool slightly. Sweeten with honey. Drink sip by sip, not all at once. Drink warm.
