  • There are many reasons why you should add basil to dishes more often. Basil (lat. Ocimum basilicum) is a shrubby and very aromatic plant, with oval and mostly green leaves. There are about sixty types of basil, and they are all different in appearance and taste.

A powerful antioxidant


Basil has very strong antioxidant properties.

  • Antioxidants from basil, which are an important part of a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle, protect the body from free radicals, prevent cell aging and the development of some types of cancer. One of them is beta-carotene, which is converted in the body into vitamin A. It prevents the oxidation of cholesterol by protecting the heart and blood vessels.
