Carob Pancakes

Updated: Mar 9

  • If you haven't made pancakes with carob, I can only tell you that they are fantastic, soft and melt in your mouth, and carob gives an even nicer scent note. Here's the recipe. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min.

Dough:

  • 300 g of soft white flour

  • 100 g of ground carob

  • 2 eggs

  • 400 ml of milk

  • 2 tsp brown sugar

  • 1 bag of cinnamon/ 7 g

  • 1 small spoon of honey

  • water as needed

Fill:

  • 250 ml of milk

  • 4 Tbsp flour

  • 80 g cocoa chocolate for cooking

  • 70 g of ground almonds

  • 8 tsp brown sugar

  • 4 Tablespoons Nutella or Eurocream

Preparation:

Dough:

  1. From the dough ingredients, stir the mass and add water as needed until you get a mass of appropriate density. Bake pancakes from the finished mass.

Fill:

  1. Pour the milk into the pot to boil on moderate heat.

  2. Place the flour in a small bowl and mix with the water. The mixture must be without lumps.

  3. When the milk boils, add the beaten flour, reduce the temperature, add all the other ingredients for the filling and mix until it thickens (it should be as thick as pudding).

  4. When the filling has thickened enough, remove it from the stove and cool a little, then fill the pancakes. Enjoy in bites!
