My mom's Sweet Snails with Walnuts

  • This is a recipe for sweet snails that I always make when I feel like eating something sweet and delicious, they are wonderful, you have to try them. Follow recipe.

INGREDIENTS: simple, total time: 60 min.

Dough-raising mixture

  • 1/2 yeast/ 20 g

  • 2/3 salt of 200 ml lukewarm milk

  • (yeast a little sugar, and pinch of salt, and 1 tsp flour. 15 min. standing after mix in other ingredients)

  • 2 egg yolks,

  • 80 g butter,

  • 200 g sugar and

  • 500 g flour to be milkier.

Divide into two noodles, roll out the dough and place the other on a board, work one out and fill it:

Fill:

  • 3 egg whites,

  • 200 g sugar

  • vanilla sugar/ 10 g

  • 200 g of ground walnuts

For the filling, first beat the egg whites and gradually add sugar and vanilla sugar, finally add walnuts and mix everything with a spatula.

Preparation:

Knead and coat the first and then the second dough.

  1. Spread the dough lengthwise and widthwise towards the baking tray.

  2. Fill with half of the filling and fold into a roll and cut to the thickness of your fingers, then place them horizontally on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

  3. That's why it's time to roll out the second dough on a board while the dough is still soft, fill, then put them on paper and bake in the oven at 180 °C.

  4. Bake until golden brown.

  5. When you take them out of the oven, roll them in powdered sugar and arrange them on a large tray.
