Pork Souvlaki-Greek Meal

  • Souvlaki is a Greek traditional dish and reminds of our skewers, and this is their recipe for preparation. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min.

Standing time 3h. 2 servings

For the marinade:

  • lemon zest, from 2 lemons

  • 100 g orange juice

  • 20 g vinegar, from white wine

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp oregano, dry

  • 1 Tbsp rosemary, fresh, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp. Honey

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

For meat:

  • 500 g pork, neck, boneless

  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

Preparation:
  • Soak the straws in water for a few hours so that they do not burn during baking.

  • Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl.

  • Cut the meat into 1-1.5 cm cubes and put them in a bowl.

  • Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, and mix well.

  • Pour the marinade mixture into the bowl and mix well with the meat.

  • Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or better overnight.

  • The next day, we pass the meats on skewers.

  • It will take 4-6 skewers and bake on the grill over high heat or on the coals for 4–5 minutes on each side.
