Brutti Ma Buoni Biscuits

  • Brutti Ma Buoni biscuits are traditional biscuits that are prepared throughout the Italian territory. Origin of water from Lombardy. Their name refers to the shape of the biscuits, but the biscuits are very tasty and amaze anyone who tries them. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 60 min.

• 400 g peeled almonds

• 330 g of sugar

• 5 egg whites

• 1 pinch of cinnamon

• vanilla powder

• butter and flour to lubricate the baking tray

Preparation:
  1. Almonds should be prepared first, put them in boiling water, drain them and peel them. Arrange them in a pan and bake them at 180 °C, and then chop them coarsely.

  2. Meanwhile, whisk the egg whites until firm and

  3. gradually add sugar, and stir in chopped almonds, cinnamon, and vanilla.

  4. Pour the mixture into a copper bowl, put it on a very low heat and let it dry slowly, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

  5. When it takes on a light and shiny brown color, remove it from the heat.

  6. Lightly coat the pan with butter and sprinkle with flour.

  7. Using a spoon, place small piles of irregularly shaped dough on top.

  8. Place in a preheated oven at 160 °C for about 30 minutes, lower the oven to 130 °C and cook for another 10 minutes, so that the inside is also dry.

  9. Remove them from the oven and allow the cookies to cool to room temperature before serving. Buon appetito!
