Carrot and Apple Jam


  1. Peel a carrot, cut it into rings and cook in a little water until soft. Add peeled apples cut into smaller pieces and continue cooking until they soften. Strain the mass thus obtained, chop it with a stick mixer so that a creamy mass is obtained. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 15 minutes).

  2. When the mass is thickened, add sugar and spices to taste – lemon zest or cinnamon, although you can do without it, and then continue cooking for another 5 minutes.

  3. Pour into sterile jars, cover with cellophane, wrap in an old blanket until completely cool. If you leave them in jars that have threaded metal lids, be sure to turn them upside down to stand for about 5 minutes, then straighten them and leave them covered until they have cooled completely.
