Updated: Feb 29

  • Donuts -Priganice is a traditional Serbian dish made of dough and is quite often made especially in Vojvodina in Serbia. They can be eaten sweet or salty with nutella cheese or cream jam. How you prefer. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 60 min.
  • 300 g of flour

  • 200 ml of warm milk/ or lukewarm water

  • 1 Tablespoon oil

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 bag of dry yeast/ 6 g

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • and plenty of frying oil

Preparation:
  1. Sift flour, mix it with yeast, add oil and scrambled egg and warm milk. Whisk the dough well for about 10 minutes with a food processor, and set aside to rise. Cover it with a cloth or wrap the dish with foil. Rest for 30 min.

  2. Grab the dough with a wet spoon and fry it in heated oil until the donuts get a golden yellow color on both sides. The same procedure is for the rest of the dough.

  3. Remove the donuts with a slotted spoon and place them on kitchen paper to absorb the fat.

  4. Serve with spread, sweet / salty if desired, cheese, cream, jam, and honey.

Buon appetito!
