Enclosed Meatballs

  • Meatballs from the oven, soft and juicy. Easy to prepare. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 65 min. 6 servings
  • 300 g minced meat/ beef and pork

  • 500 g potatoes

  • 1 onion/ finely chopped

  • 2 slices of stale bread

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1–2 cloves of garlic/ finely chopped

  • salt and ground pepper to taste

  • 1 cup yogurt/ 200 ml

  • 1/2 cup milk or water

  • 2 eggs/ scrambled

  • 1 teaspoon allspice

  • 100 g cheese/ grated

  • little oil

  1. In one bowl, put minced meat, finely chopped onion, squeezed bread that stood in lukewarm water or milk, baking soda, finely chopped garlic, 1 egg, salt, pepper and mix everything well with your hands.

  2. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.

  3. Take a little of the prepared mixture, shape meatballs of medium size with your hands and arrange them in a suitable baking dish. Leave a little space between each meatball.

  4. Peel potatoes, wash it, cut it into thin slices, then arrange it between each meatball as well as along the edges of the bowl. Top with oil.

  5. Separately mix yogurt, milk, egg, allspice, salt and pepper to taste, then pour everything over the complex meatballs and potatoes.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 220–230 °C for about 30–35 minutes, then take it out of the oven, grate the cheese over it, and return it to the oven. Bake for another ten minutes. Serve warm.
