Roast Duck in Red Wine

  • Wild Duck in red wine with the addition of herbs in tomato sauce, in a very simple and easy way of preparation. Tasty and juicy. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 2h, 4 serving
  • 1-1.5 kg duck

  • 300 ml of red wine

  • 200 g smoked bacon/ cut into noodles

  • 200 g mushrooms/ cut into slices

  • 2 Tablespoon tomato purée

  • 2 small onions/ finely chopped

  • lemon juice

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • 2 bay leaves

  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Chop the bacon into noodles, cut the washed and cleaned mushrooms into slices and sprinkle with lemon juice, chop the onion finely.

  2. Season the cleaned duck on all sides inside and out.

  3. Fry on all sides in a pan in which a little fat has been poured, add bacon, mushrooms, onions, pour wine, and simmer for a while until the alcohol evaporates.

  4. Then add tomato purée, a little thyme, bay leaf, pepper, and salt to taste.

  5. Simmer for about 1 hour and 30 minutes on low heat.

  6. Serve with pasta. Buon appetito!
