To achieve homemade bread with a wonderfully soft texture, akin to a tender soul, it requires time and dedication. This recipe is sure to delight your family. Simply follow the instructions carefully.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 120 min.
260 ml lukewarm milk
60 g sugar
10 g dry yeast
12 g salt
580 g flour
10 g powdered milk
1 egg
40 g flour
200 ml lukewarm water
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, except for the milk and eggs. Mix thoroughly with a spoon. In a separate bowl, add a small amount of milk and one egg, then whisk well. Gradually incorporate the flour, mixing by hand until a smooth dough is formed.
Allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes, covering it with a cloth.
Meanwhile, add flour and 200 ml of lukewarm water to a pot, mix well, and refrigerate for 5–6 hours.
After 6 hours, remove the mixture from the refrigerator, combine it with the dough, and let it stand for 1 hour.
Form the dough into a ball and divide it into 4 portions.
Shape each portion into smaller balls and cover with cellophane for 15 minutes.
Gently roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of approximately one finger. Fold one half of the dough over the other, then repeat the process in the opposite direction. Shape the dough by hand into a smaller rectangle.
Place the dough in a greased mold measuring 18 × 5 cm, ensuring the pieces are aligned next to each other. Allow to rise for approximately 20 minutes, covered.
Apply a coating of beaten egg yolk and a little milk to the dough using a brush.
Bake the dough at 180°C for 25–30 minutes.
