Real Tavern Serbian Veal Soup

  • This is an original recipe veal soup, from Serbian restaurants, delicious and fragrant, it takes a little longer to make, but it is not a problem while you wait for the soup, you can watch one of your favorite series. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 90 min. 8 servings
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion/ finely chopped

  • 500 g veal/ diced

  • 350 g carrots/ finely chopped

  • 50 g celery/ finely chopped

  • 20 g flour

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • dry herbal spice Vegeta

  • parsley leaves

  • 1 egg

  • 100 ml sour cream

Preparation:
  1. Wash the meat and cut it into small cubes.

  2. Cut the onion into small pieces. Also chop other vegetables.

  3. Take a deeper-larger pot, put oil to heat over medium heat, add chopped onion and stir few minutes.

  4. When the onion has a glassy appearance, add the chopped meat. Let it simmer for 45 minutes, add enough water to cover all the meat in the pot and cover the pot.

  5. After those 45 minutes, add a little salt, pepper add water too, if it has evaporated.

  6. During that time, chop 3 carrots, 50 g of celery into small cubes, put in a pot and add water to cover the ingredients.

  7. Stir well and let it cook 20 min. Then add enough water to be in 2 liters in a pot.

  8. Finally, when the water has boiled, prepare a spike, add 100 ml of water and mix with 2 full spoons of flour. Stir it well so that there are no lumps, add it to the soup, stir, reduce the heat.

  9. Regularly try the taste of soup and if missing, herbal spices, salt and pepper, add it freely. Finely chop the primrose, add to the soup when it is ready.

Enjoy in delicious soup!


NOTE: If you like, you can mix 8 g of sour cream with one egg yolk during serving and mix and pour the soup into a plate and stir, that is how it is eaten in Serbia and it is very tasty. This is the amount per plate serving(1 egg yolk and 8 g sour cream)!
