Savory roll with Cheese and Bacon

  • A wonderful and juicy delicious pita roll with cheese and prosciutto, ideal for breakfast or dinner with sour milk or yogurt. The preparation is very quick and very simple. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 50 min., 8 serving
  • 1 package of thin pie crusts/ 500 g


Mixture for Crust:

  • 4 eggs

  • 200 ml of yogurt

  • 160 ml oil

  • 1 bag of baking powder/ 10 g

  • salt to taste


Addition:

  • 450 g fried bacon/ or prosciutto diced

  • 250 g of crumble cheese/ or Greek feta cheese or mature cream ( mashed)


For Sprinkle:

  • 3 tsp of sesame

  • 3 tsp cumin seeds

Preparation:
  1. Prepare all the ingredients as described above.

  2. Fry the prosciutto or bacon in a piece, until golden brown, and cut it into smaller pieces.

  3. Beat the eggs, then add salt according to how salty the cheese is.

  4. Gradually add the yogurt, then immediately and then the oil and baking powder and combine well.

  5. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts, and the crust 3 pieces.

  6. Divide the cheese into 3 equal parts, like bacon or prosciutto.

  7. Place the first crust, spread with 3 spoon of the mixture and so on until you reach the third crust, repeat with the coating and arrange the bacon or prosciutto and add the crumbled cheese on third crust.

  8. Twist the edges on both sides and roll into a roll and place on an oven tray lined with baking paper.

  9. Repeat this with the other crusts until you have used up all the material.

  10. Brush the roll with the rest of the egg mixture and yogurt, sprinkle with cumin and sesame seeds.

  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C, about 22–23 minutes, until golden brown.

  12. Spray the finished rolls with a little water, cover with a clean cloth, and leave to cool for about 15 minutes.

  13. Serve warm or cold with sour milk or yogurt.
