#Unique Twist on Savoy Cabbage Stew
Today, I chose to prepare roasted hake but wanted to try something different from the usual potato salad or chard with potatoes. I opted for this delightful side dish of my own creation, which is both flavorful and succulent. This light accompaniment can be enjoyed on its own or paired with white meat or fish. To prepare the stewed Savoy cabbage, you will need onion, garlic, spring onion, carrot, a few potatoes, butter, and common household spices. The preparation is straightforward and relatively quick. I highly recommend trying it, as it complements a variety of dishes perfectly. Follow the recipe.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 60 min. 4 servings
Olive oil EVO to taste
1/2 onion/ cut into ribs
1 spring onion/ finely chopped
1 large carrot/ cut into rings
4 medium potatoes/ cut into small pieces
1/2 Savoy cabbage/ washed and cleaned, chopped in pieces
1 large clove of garlic/ minced
1 cube of butter/25 g
500 ml/ or as water as needed
salt and pepper to taste
1 full tsp dry spice Vegeta
Preparation:
Prepare all the ingredients as described above.
Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into smaller pieces. Set aside.
Sauté the onion in large pot for about 5 minutes and stir occasionally over low to moderate heat.
Add scallions, carrots and Vegeta dry seasoning.
Simmer for about 5-7 minutes, then add boiled potatoes and chopped Savoy cabbage into pieces, cover everything with 250 ml of water and cover.
Simmer for about 20 minutes and stir occasionally every 10 minutes. In the meantime, add salt, black pepper to taste and rest of water and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.
Savoy cabbage must soften well during this time, and the liquid to evaporate.
When there is a little liquid left towards the end, add the garlic, as soon as it smells, add the butter, mix quickly for about 2 minutes, then remove from the heat.
Serve this wonderful and healthy side dish with meat or fish. You can also eat separately if you are on a diet or vegan food.

NOTE:
You can add chopped parsley to this side dish at the end if you like.
Keep the rest of the food in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
