Fried Hake in Beer

  • A wonderful and simple recipe for preparing hake at home. Hake is a fish without bones, so it is also suitable for younger generations! It is a very tasty and juicy fish, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, in just half an hour you will have a wonderful meal that goes fantastically with salads, potato salad, Dalmatian chard and potatoes, French fries, mashed potatoes, etc. They are served with tartar sauce or mayonnaise or your favorite sauce with a slice of lemon or parsley, olive oil and garlic dressing. Follow this fantastic recipe!

Ingredients: simple, total time: 35 min, 4 serving
  • 1 kg hake fillets/ cut in pieces

  • 5–6 Tbsp flour

  • 1/2 bag baking powder/ 5 g or corn starch

  • salt and black pepper/ to taste

  • 1/2 tsp dry spice Vegeta

  • 140 ml beer

  • 100 ml mineral water

  • Vegetable oil for frying/ or fat

Preparation:
  1. If you use frozen fillets, take them out of the freezer the day before and put them in the fridge.

  2. When the fillets have thawed, dry them with a kitchen towel.

  3. Cut the hake into pieces as desired, set aside.

  4. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, dry Vegeta seasoning in a suitable and slightly deeper bowl and mix with a hand whisk.

  5. Add the beer and sour water and mix again until you get a smooth mixture.

  6. At the end, add salt and pepper to taste, be careful not to oversalt.

  7. Heat the oil over moderate heat.

  8. Roll each fillet in the mixture and gently place it in the hot oil, fry several pieces at a time until they are golden brown on all sides for about 5 minutes.

  9. Place the fried fillets on a kitchen towel to absorb excess fat.

  10. Serve hot with side dishes such as: potato salad, mashed potatoes, French fries, Dalmatian potatoes and Swiss chard with your desired salad, lemon slices.

NOTE:
  • With this fish, you can make a dressing of parsley, garlic and olive oil.

  • Keep the rest of the fish covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
