Cabbage with Apples

A delightful and nutritious dish featuring vegetables, cabbage, and carrots, complemented by apple and pork. This meal is perfect for a Sunday family lunch. Follow the recipe..
Ingredients: simple, total time: 2h 20 min. 6-8 serving
1.5 kg pork neck
1 medium head of cabbage
3 onions/ finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic/ minced
1 carrot/ cut into rings
2 apples with peel/ washed and cut on big slices
salt and pepper to taste
1 /2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp thyme
1 bay leaf
fresh parsley/ finely chopped
5-6 liter deep pot
Preparation:
Wash the cabbage and chop it into larger pieces.
Slice the carrot into rings and cut the meat into cubes.
Mince the garlic using a garlic press.
Slice the apples into larger pieces.
Sauté the onion in olive oil until it becomes translucent, stirring occasionally.
Add the carrots and pork, mixing well. Cook for approximately 20 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and mix thoroughly.
Once the garlic releases its aroma, add the sliced apples and chopped cabbage. Add water if necessary to cover all ingredients.
Incorporate the spices: salt, black pepper, cumin, thyme, and bay leaf.
Cook over moderate heat, covered, for approximately 2 hours.
Near the end of the cooking time, add chopped parsley.
Serve warm.

Keep the rest of the food in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, covered.
